JUNIOR MECHANICAL DESIGNER – PROMATION NUCLEAR

  • Design components, systems, machinery, products, and tools using SolidWorks
  • Act as a technical contact regarding the details of design projects and collaborate with other engineers/designers to help solve engineering problems 
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis with respect to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc. as related to machine and tool designs
  • Produce working drawings, detail drawings and bills of materials for equipment, sub-assemblies or products
  • Support in the analysis of designs and systems for compliance to applicable codes and standards (i.e. CSA, OSHA, CE, etc., or customer specific)
  • Assist fabricators, machinists, assembly personnel, programmers, and electricians in the debugging, integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of systems/machinery/tools
  • Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, proper machining techniques, finishes, hardness, etc.
  • Support/review/establish electrical requirements with respect to input and output devices with electrical designers.

  • Support the Engineering group (as delegated) for all, quality, risk and scope related to planning, executing, monitoring, and closing engineering activities.
  • Preparation of technical aspects of procurement plans/specifications, or requisitions (soliciting technical input from Engineering resources as required) to facilitate project needs.
  • Secondary responsibility is to negotiate technical aspects of subcontracted services.
  • Coordination and management of engineering action tracking lists.
  • Input to Lessons Learned on an on-going basis, opposite design, fabrication and manufacturing instruction.
